When I was writing this book on Electronic Navigation, I didn't go deep into the technical details of the devices. Because we are limited to make maintenance of antenna connections. and only change the fuses. If the devices are tampered with other than authorized services, the seaworthiness of the ship may be canceled. What we need to know as a user is the working principle, weaknesses, errors and how to use them. Some devices, such as electronic charts, have very rich menus. It is not possible to tell them all, also these menus change on every device. For such devices, I have explained the menu, signs and symbols from IMO standards. By this way you will easily understand onboard Bridge equipment, get familiar them quickly.
If you successfully use the devices on the bridge, you will be a successful officer. With my best wishes
